The Supply Room has been awarded a place on RM6376, the UK Government’s new official Supply Teachers and Education Recruitment framework. In plain terms: we’re now one of a limited number of agencies formally approved by the Government Commercial Agency to supply teachers and support staff to schools and trusts across the country.
From September 2026, every single and multi-academy trust in England will be required to source supply staff through an approved framework agency like us. That’s not a small shift, it’s about to change how schools recruit, and where they’re allowed to look. Getting registered with us now means you’re on the right side of that change from day one.
Why this matters for you, not just for schools
It’s easy to hear “government framework” and assume it’s paperwork that only affects the business side. It isn’t.
Here’s what it actually means if you work with us:
Full transparency on pay
One of the framework’s core requirements is that schools can see exactly how much of what they’re paying goes to you and how much is the agency’s fee.
Agency fees are capped by the framework. There’s no hiding behind vague day rates.

More importantly, The Supply Room has submitted rates for teachers and support staff LOWER than what the framework allows.
We’ve done this to ensure we can pay competitively without overcharging schools.
A genuine path to permanent work
The new framework includes a built-in temp-to-perm rule: after 12 weeks working in a role, you can be taken on permanently by the school at no additional transfer fee, provided 4 weeks’ notice is given.
If you’re supply teaching as a way into a school you love, this removes one of the biggest barriers that used to exist.
Wider access to schools, not less
Because we’re an approved Lot 1 supplier, schools and trusts across the country will increasingly be searching for agencies like us through the official GCA agency selection tool. That means more schools within reach, more consistent demand, and more choice over where you work.
Stability heading into the new school year
With the framework mandate landing for academy trusts this September, schools that haven’t already secured their supply routes will be moving fast to do so.
Being registered with an approved agency ahead of that means you’re first in line, not scrambling to catch up once trusts are actively switching over.
Why now, specifically
The framework went live on 30 April 2026 and runs until 29 April 2029. From September, trusts that haven’t transitioned to an approved framework agency will need to justify why not, under strict Procurement Act 2023 rules.
In practice, that means a wave of schools moving their supply staff arrangements onto framework-approved agencies over the summer, and we’d rather you were already a part of our team when that happens, not queuing behind everyone else in September.
Registering now costs you nothing and takes no time away from the classroom. It simply means that when schools come looking for framework-approved staff (which they will, in growing numbers), you’re already on our books, vetted, and ready to be placed.
